Remembering our Teachers
(abbreviated from the current newsletter)
Hi,
How great that Dr. Buchwalter (German), Mr. McCalmont (chemistry), Mr. Osborne (U.S. History) are remembered. May I add Chrissie Loscher who taught us impeccable punctuation and usage – as seniors.

Subject: Taft Alumni Newsletter
Guess what? The spring 2002 issue of the Taft Alumni Newsletter arrived today… I really enjoy reading the letter and often wonder how you manage to gather and keep track of all the news. I especially enjoyed the letters to the editor concerning Dr. Buchwalter. While I never took German, I did have Dr. Buchwalter for Latin for several years. It was a great class because, although she was really tough, she managed to fill in a great deal of Roman history along with the Latin studies. I too, shall always remember her and I appreciated her as a teacher very much. The letter from Roy Rauschenberg [June 1947] about Dr. Buchwalter was particularly interesting.
I also remember Mrs. Christine Lauscher. She taught English and was our Senior Class advisor. I was the Senior Prom Chairman and I worked closely with her. She guided us correctly and made sure that everything we did was appropriate. Her English classes were a delight too; she instilled a genuine interest in reading in me.
Thanks again for doing a great job on the newsletter.
